A letter from Arturo Cantero, CEO of Mak Food Company
Dear team, clients, and partners,
As I look back on everything we experienced in 2025, I feel a profound mix of pride, responsibility, and gratitude. It has been a challenging year for our industry: an international landscape marked by unstable markets, sharp fluctuations in concentrate prices, and a widespread decline across traditional product categories, particularly in key markets such as Europe and the United States, where consumption fell between 7% and 12% according to international reports.
Growing in such an environment is never a matter of chance. It is the result of a way of working, a shared culture, and a collective commitment.
That is why today, with full conviction, I can say that Mak has exceeded expectations and closed 2025 with solid, sustained growth. We did not grow despite the context, we grew because we knew how to respond to it.
A Year of Stability in an Uncertain Market
If there is something that has always set Mak apart and that has become more evident than ever this year; it is our ability to guarantee stock even in the most volatile market conditions.
While many regions faced supply limitations or drastic fluctuations (particularly in fruit concentrate sectors affected by production and climate variations in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, or regions like Florida), Mak remained committed to one principle: being there for our clients, always.
Our efficiency-driven model and long-term planning have allowed us to:
- Ensure constant product availability
- Avoid supply interruptions
- Respond swiftly to the needs of brands, manufacturers, and distributors in more than 30 countries
Concentrates, not only plant-based ones, have been one of our fundamental pillars this year. And I am not referring solely to the product itself, but to the service behind it: the reliability, the consistency, and the peace of mind we offer every client who chooses Mak as their partner.
Global Recognition: Mak Among the Industry’s Leading Players
The Global B2B Oat Concentrate Manufacturers Report officially positioned Mak Food Company among the world’s Tier 1 specialized leaders, alongside major multinational corporations.
It highlights our proprietary technology, our efficiency model, and the versatility of our solutions, from oat concentrates to fruit blends and 10:1 shelf-stable formats.
This recognition is more than an external seal of approval: it is confirmation that the vision on which Mak was founded is now taking shape on a global scale.
A Year of Crossing Borders and Creating Opportunities
Without a doubt, 2025 has been the year in which Mak made its decisive international leap.
We have taken part in some of the most relevant trade shows and industry events around the world, not simply as exhibitors, but as a brand that sparks interest, attracts meaningful conversations, and stands out for its strong focus on research and innovation, particularly in the development of tailor-made fruit concentrate blends designed precisely to meet each client’s needs.
This global presence has allowed us to:
- Open new markets
- Strengthen strategic relationships
- Listen firsthand to what the industry needs, what it is seeking, and where it is headed
Traveling, speaking with clients from such diverse cultures, and seeing how our model is understood and valued outside our borders has been, personally, one of the most rewarding experiences of the year.
What We Learned in a Market That Is Constantly Changing
2025 taught us many lessons, but I would like to highlight four of them:
- Stability is priceless.
In a sector marked by constant fluctuations, being a reliable supplier is an extraordinary differentiator. - Efficiency is no longer optional, it is essential.
Manufacturers, distributors, and retailers are seeking to minimize logistical, energy, and environmental impact. Mak has taken significant steps ahead of this need. - The future does not belong to those who have the most resources, but to those who adapt the fastest.
And this year, we have proven that we are an agile, flexible company prepared for changing times. - Caring for the people who make our industry possible is essential.
The concentrate sector does not begin in a factory; it begins in the fields.
In the hands of the farmers, cooperatives and packing houses who work every day to ensure the quality and continuity of raw materials.
In 2025, we strengthened our strategic alliances with them, building relationships based on trust, stability, and long-term collaboration.
We know that without them, there is no product, no innovation, and no future.
Supporting them, listening to them, and walking alongside them will always remain a core priority for Mak.
Looking Ahead to 2026: A Year to Scale, Consolidate, and Grow Together
According to market forecasts, 2026 will be a year of gradual normalization in supply and price stabilization across several categories, especially in key producing regions such as Brazil, which has already shown signs of recovery this year.
But it will also be a year of new demands:
- More traceability
- More sustainability
- More logistical efficiency
- Higher quality expectations for ingredients
At Mak, we are ready for this.
Our plan for 2026 focuses on:
- Expanding production capacity
- Strengthening our international footprint
- Developing new applications and concentrate solutions
- Continuing to build strategic partnerships that empower both our clients and our company
If 2025 was a year to show who we are, 2026 will be the year to show how far we can go.
